International Students

International Students with an F-1 Visa
Cleary University makes extensive use of distance technology in its delivery of instruction. Current immigration regulations prohibit the University’s issuance of F-1 Visas. Therefore, students who are not citizens of the United States of America may be admitted in this category if they meet the standard admission requirements and can demonstrate the following:

  • Current Visa with continuing Visa status enabling residency in the United States rather than the F-1 student visa.
  • Proficiency in the English language by presenting official records showing a minimum score of 550 (PBT-paper-based test), 213 (CBT-computer-based test) or 70 (iBT-Internet-based test) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or a minimum score of 75 on the Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB), or successful completion of a basic composition course at an U.S. college or university with a grade of “C” or higher for undergraduate students; “B” or higher for graduate students.
  • Evidence of financial resources adequate to sustain monetary obligations in the United States. Estimated expenses can be found here.
